હોળી પ્રગટાવવા નો અને  હોળી દર્શન નો   સમય સાંજ ના  ૪ :૦૦ થી ૮:૦૦ વાગ્યા સુધી રવિવાર તારીખ ૧૬:૦૩:૨૦૧૩

હોળી,જેને ‘રંગોનો તહેવાર’ પણ કહેવામાં આવે છે, તે ભારત,સુરિનામ,ગુયાના,ટ્રિનિદાદ યુનાઇટેડ કિંગડમ અને નેપાળમાં ભારે લોકચાહના ધરાવતો હિંદુ તહેવાર છે. તેને ‘દોલયાત્રા’ કે ‘વસંતોત્સવ’ તરીકે પણ ઓળખવામાં આવે છે.આ તહેવારનો પ્રથમ દિવસ હોળી અને બિજો દિવસ ધુળેટી તરીકે ઓળખાય છે. હોળી ફાગણ માસની પુનમનાં દિવસે મનાવવામાં આવે છે. આ દિવસે સાંજે ગામનાં પાદર કે મુખ્ય ચોક જેવા સ્થાન પર છાણા,લાકડાં ની ‘હોળી’ ખડકવામાં આવે છે. ત્યાર બાદ બધાં લોકો ત્યાં વાજતે ગાજતે (ઢોલ,શરણાઇ જેવાં વાજીંત્રો વગાડતાં) એકઠા થાય છે અને હોળી પ્રગટાવવામાં આવે છે. લોકો તેની પ્રદક્ષિણા કરે છે તેમજ શ્રીફળ વગેરે પવિત્ર મનાતી વસ્તુઓથી તેમનું પૂજન કરે છે. જો કે ભારતમાં વિવિધ પ્રાંતો અને સમુદાયોમાં હોળીની ઉજવણીની અલગ અલગ રીતો હોય છે,પરંતુ દરેકની ભાવના એકજ હોય છે કે હોળી પ્રગટાવી અને આસુરી તત્વોનો નાશ કરવો અને દૈવી શક્તિઓનું સન્માન કરવું. હિંદુ ધર્મમાં આને લગતી “હોલિકા અને પ્રહલાદ”ની કથા બહુ જાણીતી છે.
હોળીનાં બિજા દિવસે ધુળેટી મનાવાય છે. આ તહેવાર ‘રંગોનો તહેવાર’ એટલેજ કહેવાય છે કે આ દિવસે સવારથી સૌ કોઇ નાના મોટા એકબિજા પર અબિલ,ગુલાલ તેમજ કેસુડાનાં રંગો છાંટી પોતાનો ઉત્સાહ અને આનંદ વ્યક્ત કરે છે. જો કે હવેનાં સમયમાં ક્યાંક ક્યાંક રસાયણિક રંગોનો ઉપયોગ પણ કરાય છે, જેનો ઉપયોગ બને તેટલો ટાળવો હિતાવહ છે.
Holi is one of the major festivals of Hindus. It is celebrated in many parts of India, but especially in the north of India. The festival is celebrated for two to three days. People pour colored water on each other and cook many types of sweets and other food. Holi is celebrated in spring because it is welcoming spring. They believe spring is full of colours so they throw coloured water on each other. They also believe that it welcomes the new year, so it’s actually also a sort of New Year for them. It is interesting how holi started.
Here’s brief story
Hiranyakasipu (the king of demons) had son, Prahlad. Prahlad was the greatest devotee of Lord Vishnu. Hiranyakashyap wanted to kill his son. So he called his sister, Holika. (Holika = holi). She had a magic robe. This robe had the power to save the wearer from burning in fire. Hiranyakashyap ordered his sister to sit on burning fire along with prahlad. He thought that her sister would not be harmed by fire because of the magic robe and Prahlad would be burnt to death. But the result was the opposite to what the evil demon king planned. As is believed, no one can harm the person who has God as his saviour. Thus Prahlad came out of the burning fire safely and Holika was burnt to death.
The other day is celebrated with joyful colours to mark the victory of virtue And goodness over evil. The festival is celebrated for five days. The 5th day Rang Panchmi marks the Closing day of Holi festival.
